Who are you?
We are a 501(c)(3) running club in The Woodlands, Texas who are looking to benefit our community through volunteerism and to have fun with our fellow runners. We have a short distance run and long distance run on Saturday mornings. By posting two distances, we hope to encourage many runners to come out and be active with us. Whether your goal is to just be healthy or to run a marathon, we hope you will find our club a welcoming environment which is supportive of your needs.

What time and where do you meet?
Saturday mornings at 6:00 a.m. in the summer! When the weather cools off we will move the time to 6:30 or 7:00 a.m.. Some of our group find that arranging a Sunday morning run with other club members on their own works better for them. We meet in the parking lot of the George Mitchell Library at 8125 Ashlane Way in The Woodlands. The Library is across from the Branch Crossing YMCA on Ashlane Way.

How far do you run each Saturday?
We have two Saturday runs. The short run will be between 3-6 miles. The long run distance generally depends on if some of us are training for an event, but usually there is a group going at least 6 miles anywhere up to 10 or more when there is a big event coming up (like the Houston Half). This is not to say you have to be training for something to do a long run. Many people just like to do the longer distances and aren't looking to run a race at all. Some runners use Saturday as the "long run" day of his/her training. Sometimes people are training for something longer than a half and are doing more miles. They may elect to come out early and then finish their runs with the group. We are hoping in the near future to bring a walking coach to help walkers get/stay healthy or even to progress to running, but as yet, that is still in the planning stages. Stay Tuned!

How will I know how far the runs are each week?
Once you join, your GRC password will allow you to access information not made readily available on the public side of the website. There you will see a map link to "Saturday Short Run" and "Saturday Long Run". Then you can see not only how far we are going, but which route we are running.

Can you support my charity?
Charitable support is decided solely by the board of The Go Running Club. While we are mainly looking to support organizations in Montgomery County, we are happy to accept written petitions from active group members who have a charity they feel strongly deserves consideration for our support be it through race volunteerism or financial donation.
